TORONTO
'Leash free' areas for city dogs

A 'leash free' area within a park is a place where dogs can socialize and run off-leash in a safe, secure environment.
In the City of Toronto, more than 60,000 dogs use many of our more than 1,000 parks. Dog parks are becoming
an increasingly popular opportunity for people and dogs to relax, exercise and socialize.
There is no doubt that the dog owners require parkland, as do other "special use" groups such as baseball, soccer and tennis enthusiasts. The recognized use of city dog parks is growing at an amazing rate around the country. It is an excellent opportunity to provide pet owners with information on vaccination clinics, microchip clinics, dog training and other information related to keeping their pet happy and healthy.

There are a number of areas throughout the CITY OF TORONTO where you can let your dog off-leash.
